 Being Still, Being Loving

Rev. Peggy Ann "Serena"

Psalm 46: 10 reminds us to Be Still, to ”Be Still and Know that I AM God

And who or what is God?  God is LOVE and that is all there really is.

God is LOVE and I AM of God, God’s presence is within me. Like the wave in the ocean , God and I are ONE. So I am Love.  Love is the truth of my being. Love is the truth of your being.

In the book written by Mari Perron, “A Course in Love”, love is described “as essential to your being as the heart is to your body”.

When we truly know that we are LOVE, what is the next step?  To simply sit and contemplate on this truth, I am Love, I am Love, I Am Love?  Wouldn’t that feel great?

Be still and know that I am Love.

And what is love?  Love, like all things, is ENERGY.  It is a pure energy that vibrates at a very high level.

In his book, Power vs. Force, David Hawkins says Love is: “unconditional, unchanging and permanent”.

And, Marianne Williamson, in “A Return to Love” describes love as “not something we can perceive with our physical senses, perhaps, but people can usually tell you when they feel it and when they don’t.”.

It is a wondrous and glorious time for all of us, and Mother Earth, too. Many shifts are occurring!

It is a time when our human race and our planet are beginning to return to love, to return to the energy of the Creator, to return to Light and Love.

Many of us already know that know our Soul purpose is to be-loving.  We know we are here with the purpose to assist in the transformation from societies and lives based on fear and harm to societies and lives of compassion, caring and of be-ing loving.

How do we begin this?  We begin by being still.  By going within ourselves and letting go of  fear, hurt, resentment, and anger that we may still be holding onto, or that may still be laying dormant within us from the past, knowing that the experiences that may have led to these feelings were actually chosen by us, not to harm us, but to teach us.

We do this by releasing anxiety about the future. We are told by Jesus in Matthew 6:34 in The Message,  “Don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.  God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

It is essential to heal these things within ourselves.

We do this through the power of Love.

When we courageously look at these things in ourselves and bring them into the Light, lovingly, we are able to see them with our spiritual eyes and feel them with our spiritual hearts. We are able to lovingly let go of them.  We are able to know that the universal truth about creating the healing is not just thinking positively, though this is important, but that healing is founded in Love.

Through the letting go, Light and Love can once again fill those spaces so that we can be the BE-ings of light and love that the Creator so desires us to be.

Here is a simple prayer by Socrates, “I pray thee, oh God, that I may be beautiful within.”

Healing these areas within ourselves, makes us beautiful inside, so only beauty radiates out from us.

The Christ consciousness is love, it is also LOVING.   Christ was an example of loving, of be-ing loving, of allowing love to flow through him to create miracles. And Christ said,  "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me, (whoever believes in LOVE)  will also do the works that I do”  and…he said, that we will do even greater works!   (John 14:12).

The Power of Loving is immeasurable!  Love is eternal and everlasting.  Being loving is being forgiving, nurturing, and supportive.

Love heals all things, casts out all fear, and brings peace, harmony, joy, balance and unity!

Remembering that I Am that I Am, and I am of God and God is love, so I AM Love,  is connecting, healing, powerful!

Sit with that, be still with that, let that knowing sink deep, deep within you.  Feel yourself becoming the love-being that you already are.

Each new day on awakening spend a moment remembering - I am that I am, and I am of God and God is Love and I AM love.
Some mornings don’t you just feel so peaceful and cozy that you want to stay lying in bed in comfort?  Or, have you ever been in meditation and wanted to just stay there forever?

We, though, do live in this world and have certain responsibilities and obligations to fulfill while we are here for this time, especially in this time of significant change on our planet.

So as we rise, as we move forward as the love-beings and the light and love-workers that we are, we can rise and move lovingly.

We can be loving in all ways, in all moments, to all beings and things that we encounter and that are coexisting with us.

Loving-kindness is one of the Four Immeasurables taught by the Buddha. The other three are sympathetic joy, equanimity and compassion.

Loving-kindness means we want all beings to be well and happy. Not just people we know and like, but all beings - including strangers, people we let annoy us, the animals and plants, the wind and rain, the sky and the sea, …all things.

Opening up to knowing that we are Love, and setting the intention of be-ing loving and allowing love to flow through us, is our only real assignment.

What is the key to being loving?  For each thought, we can ask, “is this loving?” For every action, we can ask, “is this loving?” We can ask ourselves, “is this leading me to be of service?”  Each moment is an opportunity to make a shift to being loving.

We can be loving in our work, be loving in our play, be loving in our touch and we can speak lovingly.

We already know that the law of the Universe states that we attract what we focus on. If we are focused on being loving, that is what will manifest.

If there is anything that we need now in our world, it is an even greater manifestation of love.  Being loving will bring about our own healing, and then, the healing, of others, of our world, our universe and beyond.

Being loving is what brings forth the kingdom of heaven within and what will manifest the kingdom of Love on this planet we call earth.

Are you thinking, “Oh, this is easy to say…”. Or, “ What planet is she from?  Doesn’t she know there are unloving experiences and things occurring all the time?”

Yes,  Of course, I do!  Everyday I work with children who have been abused and neglected – many of them by their own family members.

Yes, of course I do, I know of crime and suffering, of wars, and environmental phenomena, increases in earthquakes and hurricanes and the disappearances of our rain forests.

This is why being still and being loving is so very, very important!

In his book “Living Love from the Spiritual Heart”, John Roger, Founder of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness, said, “A lot of people look at their lives and say, "There has to be something better, something more than this."

He said, “There is a lot more than this, but not necessarily on the physical level.” John-Roger continues, “Wherever you are, no matter what you are doing or what you have with you, you can have the greatest experience possible: (in the) awareness that you are a child of God and are divine.”

Too simplistic and perhaps unrealistic, you say?  Hmmm?  Is it?  Really?  Does there need to be a struggle?   Does it need to difficult?  Does there really need to be a duality?

A dear friend of mine overheard a study CD I had made for myself when I was studying for my  social work licensure exam.  Included on it were the symptoms associated with mental health dis-orders.  He made an interesting comment.  He said,  "All I am hearing on that CD is about the dis-orders, the illnesses.  I wonder what the world would do if we eliminated the ‘dis” and focused on ‘LOVE-orders!”

Think about that!  Removing the “dis-es”!  There would only be satisfaction, there would only be ease, there would only be respect, enchantment, and so on!

We can begin the inner journey now.  Be still and know that I am God.   Be still and know.  Be still.  Be.   BE loving in each new moment, moment by moment.

Bless your hearts,

Rev. Peggy Ann “Serena”
